Hi all BN users,
I am trying to take a MS Word doc from my laptop, put it on a thumb drive, then open and read it from the thumb drive with my BN.
I saved the document to the thumb drive on my laptop, movthe drive to my BN, and tried to open the doc, but it didn't show up on the thumb drive.
If anyone has any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

James, just a little ignorant tipical tech support question(we have to ask these things). When you moved it to the thum drive did you make sure you could access it from the thum drive?(please don't hit me for that one). I don't know why it wouldn't see the file. Looking forward to some answers on this one since some of my clients are starting to use thumb drives with there BN's.

what kind of drive is it?

yes, I was able to see the doc on the drive when I had it on the laptop, but when I put it in the BN, I wasn't able to see it. I ccould see other docs I had previously save on the drive, but not the one I had just tried to save.
It si a thumb drive that plugs in to the USB port of both my laptop and BN, not sure what brand it is, but can find out if that'd help.
Tahnks for all the help in advance.

A few things you need to check. First, certain brands of thumb drives do indeed work better with the BN family. Second, if you're opening the file, make sure your BN is set for all file types. To do this, when you get to the open file prompt, press space with X. when you hear the prompt change to "entry type, all files" or words to that effect, start going through the file list.

I have a list of suported thumb drives at work, so if you find this doesn't work, let me know, and I'll get the thumb drive list. Also check the humanware site for the list. Good luck.

thanks for all the advice, everyone. I am not sure what happened, but last night when I tried the thumb drive again, all the files showed up and opened fine.
Maybe it was just a fluke or something. Thanks again.
